That's Borth War Memorial on Craig-yr-Wylfa, overlooking Cardigan Bay. Today's trivia moment ... It was struck by lightning on 21st March 1983, and had to be rebuilt.

Part of the St Andrew's Old Kirk with some interesting information panels [the rest is visible only as the lowest courses of the walls]. The Kirk was ruined after a storm in 1656 swept the entire eastern section into the sea. Slightly better view of Tynemouth Castle, Priory and Coastguard buildings, from further over towards the Spanish Battery area ... but this one is photobombed by the car door mirror.

The Tynemouth headland [L->R] has a) The Castle [in the care of English Heritage ] b) The ruins of Tynemouth Priory [in the care of English Heritage ] c) The lookout / main facility for Tynemouth Coast Guard [currently unoccupied] The white building to the lower left is the clubhouse for Tynemouth Sailing Club - there are just a few masts visible from their boat park and hard. The club and it's members have quite a few "Hobby Cats" and Lasers, usually to be found sailing within the piers. Apologies about the photobombing crash barrier ...

Evening sun in Whitby, after having spent some of the day on NYMR [when it rained] - now for some Fish & Chips [in Scarborough, for a change].
