Painting by a local artist depicting the destruction of the Triumph works at Meriden in 1984.

Painting is almost finished. The roof is ready to be added.

We managed to repair two corner plates, but the other two had to be completely replaced as they were too wasted & had whole sections missing / patched. . There has been a late change to the livery specification, necessitating a repaint of the base colour. Once that has been done, and the "door bump stops" refitted, the signwriting will be done.

Rubbing down for the final coat of gloss paint. Final task is signwriting and protective varnish.

Metalwork in black gloss [actually underframe paint, it is more resilient] and bodywork in light grey [and it should be a much darker shade].

Mainly painting in progress - and in the form of colour tests.

All four wheels and their axles have been re-rusted and painted with primers, undercoat and now the black gloss underframe paint.

Progress in the early stages of the painting process. Some pieces have received a coat of grey primer / undercoat, others are still in the pre-painting preparation phase, including treating vulnerable areas with a high quality preservative. The final coats will be in gloss black underframe paint. As the chassis is bolted together and not glued, all surfaces - including joints, will be painted before re-assembly.

Taken from the bulkhead opening between compartments 1 & 2, looking towards compartment 5 at the further end. The central part of the full width seat is visible through the opening in the bulkhead between compartments 4 & 5. Internal work to be done [summary] - infilling the two bulkhead openings, fitting two new bulkheads [2 & 3 and 3 & 4] replacing all the seat units with full-width bench seats, and making all the doors work ; which includes one totally new door, in compartment 1. And a repaint ...

Under preparation for the first gloss coat, the undercoat has been sanded smooth and tacked off. It will have another wipe down just before I start painting. The sides have also been progressing, although the beading is still to be attached.

Lettering for this side is finished, maybe a few little spots to touch up. Then around to the other side ...

Going around, patch painting the gutter fixing points - still some trimming to do on the other side. There are a number of other tasks still to complete, such as glazing the windows.

Painting the gloss coats, a pale cream, over the new material - including the roof sticks. Some items still in undercoat, but not for long - camera grabbed on the coffee break !
