The tail and part of the back of a female pheasant, probably not the same one as seen earlier - this one seems to have more black spots.

Here's a nice side view of one of the lady pheasants. Her colouration is rather more pink or pale brown than the normal shade.

The female chaffinches are quite well camouflaged ...

Tufty and his "plus one" having a visit to the front garden diner - between them, they have cleaned up almost all the spilt seeds.

Emperor dragonfly [Anax imperator] laying eggs on what I think is Potamogeton gramineus [various-leaved pondweed] in a large pond in Norfolk. I had been trying [and failing] to capture images of either the very territorial male dragonfly or the female flying above the pond. Finally, I managed this image and cropped it "in camera".

Freshly arrived [28th May 2022] and as yet un-named ... also, she is very young, exceptionally shy and therefore difficult to photograph. E2A - Sadly, her personality turned aggressive, despite all the gentle handling / habituation and stimulation such as time in an exercise ball that was offered. She bit people without warning and became impossible to handle without risk. She had a stroke and was PTS at the beginning of March 2023.
