That plant with the yellow flowers is probably Lathyrus pratensis [yellow meadow vetchling].

wpd[25] / gdn[25] - yellow

Is this a petunia or a surfinia or is it something else ? Bought as part of a batch seedlings from a supplier of pet food etc - and I really do not remember exactly what I had bought. Next year I'll take notes !

wpd[25] / gdn[25] - marigold

19 Aug 2025 105
large marigold flower. Nope, not right for WPD. Just not saying anything to me.

wpd[25] - lemons

Glass table top, featuring lemons. Not too happy with this one - I think I should have washed the surface and then cropped the image.

RER[25] - Perkins at work [HTT]

21 Jun 2025 3 1 27
Indeed a rare sight - Perkins hauling the last service of the day, as it arrives at Dalegarth. I think that this is the first time I've seen Perkins out on the main line, running service trains, other than at a gala. Perkins is substituting for River Irt, who had failed [broken down] earlier in the day. The necessary repairs appeared to have been completed by the time the down train returned to Ravenglass, as R. Irt was back in the Engine Shed as we went past. HTT[24thJune2025] - the wider platform at Dalegarth, and additional nearby areas, are well supplied with tables & seats. {and shade, dog bowls etc}

SoS[25] - by the spring [HWW] [Explored]

This clump of daffodils always does well, as this spot is a bit of a sun-trap, because of the dry stone wall behind. . . {bragging but I rebuilt that wall from the ground up, after a section further left "fell down" on day when the local fox hunt were about, they also rode & drove over the very soft ground in the field {making deep ruts & horse hoof prints, some approaching 12" in depth} that is now planted with a mix of conifer and native broad-leaved trees. Managed for wildlife, including many nest-boxes and even a fox refuge. There's a resident hedgehog and a fox does visit - see the garden camera trap albums]

SoS[25] - daffs in the wildwood

31 Mar 2025 54
The daffs in this one area really seem to be doing very well

SoS[25] - first daff {1 of 2}

07 Mar 2025 56
First daffodil to start flowering in the garden in 2025 - a lot of them seem to be very late this year. It's not the usual one !

One single daff, flowering in the wildwood, caught in the sunlight and quivering in the breeze.

SoS[24] - early daffs

One group of early flowering roadside daffodils, these are growing only a short distance from us [it's not the place in the background !]

SoS[23] - mini-daffs

Another clump of tete-a-tete making a good show, in a patch of rare sunlight.

flo - yellow carnations

09 Jun 2021 5 141
A bunch of yellow carnations, unscented - at least I couldn't detect anything - these lasted much longer than expected and provided a welcome splash of colour.
