Josep Subirats , un artista catalano che non ottenne il successo che arrivò per altri suoi conterranei, anche a causa del fatto che la sua opera mostrava luoghi e scene rinnegati dal potere ufficiale franchista della sua epoca. Questa foto è stata presa a una mostra a lui dedicata nel museo Terrus a Elne, Catalogna francese, nel 2012. La rassegna si intitolava "Périple d'un artiste" e copriva gli anni dal '36 al '41, durante i quali Subirats partecipò attivamente alla lotta contro il franchismo. L'artista fu aggregato alla 27ª Divisione dell'Esercito Populare della Repubblica e contribuì alla causa anche con le sue opere, dapprima come grafico per manifesti propagandistici della rivoluzione repubblicana e poi ritraendo le vittime del regime. A causa della sua attività finì in vari campi di concentramento in Francia. Con questa fotocamera fece fotografie dei luoghi e delle genti coinvolte, in PiP e qui sotto un paio di toccanti esempi.

in realtà questa è una ricostruzione, nella Maison de Santé di Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, un vecchio convento adibito a ospedale psichiatrico a Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, dove Van Gogh l'8 maggio 1889 entrò volontariamente per rimanervi circa un anno, dipingendo nel frattempo ben 140 opere, tra queste vi sono molte delle più famose.
