Perins Peak

From a distance, Perins Peak is visible through the woodlands of Overend Mountain Park at the edge of the small town of Durango. This forested area was my playground as a small child during the late 1950s where I developed a life-long love for unspoiled nature. In my child's mind I thought that the peak was called "Parents Peak", and that it was a place for grownups to get away from their nagging children. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Mult-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75 lens with a Zenza Bronica 82mm L 1A filter using Kodak Portra 800 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Although maps identify the mountain by a different name, it will always be Ice Cream Cone Mountain to me.
