Albie

11 May 2015 2 594
The HU-16E Albatross manufactured by Grumman was an amphibious US Coast Guard aircraft in service from 1951 to 1983. In it's retirement, I believe that it would be a perfect character (Albie) in a Disney/Pixar movie. This image was taken from a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm T* lens and Kowa Y2 ø67 filter + adapter using Rollei Retro 80S film, scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

SS Jeremiah O'Brien One of only two currently operational World War II Liberty ships afloat of the 2,710 built during the war. I post this photo in tribute to my late father, Lt. Lee Holcomb, who served on the Liberty Ship, USN Oconto, in the Pacific WWII theater, seeing combat action in Luzon, Philippines and Okinawa. This photo was taken with a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera and a KOWA 1:2.8/85mm lens and Y2 filter using Rollei Retro 80S film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600. (Somewhat ironic that this photo came from a Japanese medium format camera)
