Another deposit, down near the canyon floor near the base of the cableway. New Moose tungsten mine, Twin Rivers district, in Summit Canyon, Toiyabe Range, Nevada. The tungsten mineralization (scheelite) occurs in altered limestone pods hosted in the Gold Hill Formation, which is mostly quartzite. The mine was active in the 50s or so, probably until the Federal government yanked the price supports.
