As former yearly submissions to World Photography Day have shown, we are once again staying at a beautiful old cottage on Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire at the kind invitation of my brother and sister-in-law. This is a long standing tradition for the last weeks of August, and our families have spent many happy times together - here and at other places on the lake.

My husband's family had a share in one of the homes on this island. Sadly, that is currently owned by a very unpleasant man (he barb wired his property!) with other unpleasant neighbors.There used to be a wonderful feeling of community here which they have done their best to destroy. And yet there are still great people who are fighting back against these (actually) rather pathetic, fearful people. However, this home, the first one built on the island, is apparently owned by really wonderful people - and this is the second (3rd?) year we have stayed here, thanks to the generosity of my brother and sister in law!
