A portrait sent to the countess Mocenigo. In 1931 he became the Duke of Aosta. He was English-educated and very tall: 1.98m (6ft 6in). He died in 1942 in a prisoner-of-war camp in Nairobi, Kenya. The palazzo belonged to the Mocenigo family and the present condition dates mostly from the 17th century. It was bequeathed to the city of Venice in 1945. Since 1985 it functions to as the Museum and Study Centre of the History of Fabrics and Costumes.
