What love is capable of. Saint Francis and the Wolf of Gubbio. Stone placed in 1945 to commemorate the 500 years existence of Franciscans in Leiden.

This (memorial) stone was made in 1630, at the 200 anniversary of the invention of printing with moveable type. This invention was attributed at the time to the Dutchman Coster. The printer Arent Corsz. Hogenacker ordered the stone. He was not only a printer, but also a punchcutter and type foundry. He was famous for his Arabic letters, used by the professor of Arabic at Leiden University, but he also had Syrian and Greek letters. The Dutch banks have decided to pool their cash dispensers. The cash dispensers are called Geldmaat (Money Mate). This “shop” contains several cash dispensers, but also cash-deposit machines.

A old shop selling cooking stuff and china, now moved to Hillegom after 150 years in Leiden. This box remained in the now empty shop.

In recent years Leiden is transformed to be a pleasant experience for tourists, so this bench-cum-flower bed was built, but now sitting is no longer allowed, because you might catch the lurgy of other humans sitting about.

Too many people so the street was closed off.
