All the rage around 1900 all over Europe, covered elegant shopping streets, this is one of the remaining ones. Nowadays we have malls.

The original station was also a terminus station pretending to be a side station, because there were plans to extend the line to Scheveningen, the seaside town now part of The Hague. When this station was built, the name changed from Den Haag Staatsspoor to Den Haag Centraal Station . They are building something in front of the station. Cannot get any worse I suppose.
