The opening of the West Car Park of the Alver Valley Country Park as part of the Western Gateway development came in time for the Bank Holiday weekend with the finishing touches being put in place on 26 and 27 May. The Friday was a nice day for the inevitable 'getaway' but the strange lighting in today's photographs presaged the first heavy drops of the equally inevitable rain. It turned out to be a shower. So, the car park is open and already popular, at least outside the charging period, and the area is due to gain a play area and some sort of refreshment facility. 200_2_P1100721C

My previous photographs from the Western Gateway site of the Alver Valley Country Park were as recent as 10 April 2016 but progress still seems a bit slow.
