Whilst some aspire to re-open the entire route of the former Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, I feel that the station restorations are more realistic. There are key projects at various points of the line and, of those, Shillingstone is perhaps the best known. A remarkable amount of work has been done by a limited number of volunteers and the station garden is particularly attractive.
