For an overnight stay at Niagara Falls, we had booked a Falls View room and were not disappointed. The corridor leading to the rooms offered only a dull view over Niagara Falls, Ontario but the view from the high-floor room was truly breathtaking. In one of two pictures signing off my Niagara Falls series, this is the view of Horseshoe Falls from our room.

A new picture of the statue by Leslie Drysdale of inventor Nikola Tesla at Niagara Falls, Ontario, commemorates his inventions at a site deeply associated with hydro-electric power. Tesla developed the world's first system. I first photographed this on 5 September 2012. There is another monument on Goat Island on the US side of the Niagara River.

It would be possible to visit Niagara Falls and view only the waterfalls themselves but, the fact is, there is a great deal to see in the area. This magnificent piece of Beaux-Arts industrial architecture caught my eye. It is the former Toronto Power Generating Station which ceased operating in February 1974.
