Holy Island Harbour is run by the Holy Island of Lindisfarne Community Development Trust. The muddy area is called The Ouse and is used as a mooring for local fishing boats and yachts and pleasure boats. On the beach are the famous upturned boats, old herring boats converted in to fishermen’s sheds. The harbour is a working environment and people are not encouraged to walk here, especially on the pier.

Lindisfarne Castle is a 16th-century castle located on Holy Island, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England, much altered by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901. The island is accessible from the mainland at low tide by means of a causeway. Clik on photo
