Frankfurt Hbf, Picture 2, Edited Version, Frankfur…

17 Apr 2012 328
The steam-era beauty of Frankfurt Hbf is to be seen everywhere, even in little details like this clock. More impressive is that this station survived World War II, although I'm sure it had to have been rebuilt (I don't know all the history of that).

Clock Tower, Picture 2, Jindrichuv Hradec, Jihočes…

I don't know very much about this church, but the clock tower is interesting. It's actually somewhat difficult to photograph because the cramped space that the church now sits in makes it hard to get back far enough. In spite of this problem, though, this photo is one of the only ones on this roll that I haven't had to edit very much.

Clock in Praha Hlavni Nadrazi, Prague, CZ, 2010

10 Dec 2010 395
This is probably the most famous clock in Hlavni Nadrazi, over the main Wilsonova entrance by Fantova Kavarna.

Stare Radnice in the Snow, Prague, CZ, 2010

Swinging the Ikoflex (still on the tripod) over to my right, I got this shot right after the Tynsky Chram shot.

Building With Clock In Haje From The Rear, Prague,…

Another adventure that I had towards the end of the summer of 2009 was my exploration of the bike trail system around Prague. Ideally, if you're going to use a bike for transportation, the deeper inside a city you are, the better. Prague has it backwards, though. In the city centre, bike couriers are referred to as "organ donors," but in the suburbs, there is a bike trail system almost as extensive and complete as the road system, going pretty much anywhere you would want to go. I decided to work up to riding to Branik, but at the end of my adventures I did more than that. This trip was my first bike trip, when I only made it as far as Krc, but I took this shot with my cameraphone as I was leaving Haje. Surprisingly, I don't have many good shots of the "back" (to me, anyway) of this panelak, my favourite of the Haje panelaks because of the clock on either side, plus the fact that it's really a pair of towers with a bridge at the top (which you can't see in this shot).

Altmarkt at Night, Dresden, Germany, 2009

13 Jul 2009 382
The most challenging part of rebuilding Dresden in the years following World War II was the Altmarkt, although this reconstruction is one of the most complete, as it was the most missed. This night shot of the clock tower was the only truly good shot I got of it on this visit, however.

I also took this parting shot of the Cathedral, which was one of the most complete that I got.

.....and a better shot of the clock tower on the Cathedral.

St. Stephen's Cathedral, Litomerice, Bohemia (CZ),…

28 May 2009 400
The original Litomerice basilica on this site dated to 1057, but the current St. Stephen's Cathedral dates to 1655, when the Litomerice bishopric was founded. The clock tower is newer, being built at the end of the 19th Century to replace the original bell tower.

Clock Tower, Kunsthallen Nikolaj, Picture 3, Copen…

From what I can gather, this place, basically an art gallery, used to be a church, with the building dating to 1795.

Building Clock, Starego Miasta, Warsaw, Poland, 20…

11 Dec 2007 380
Above the plaque commenorating the rebuilding of the old town is this very ornate clock. I don't know if it's a repro of an older one, but anyone familiar with Eastern and Central Europe knows that such clocks were very common there over the years.

Building Clock on Ulica Marjensztat, Warsaw, Polan…

11 Dec 2007 1 1 359
Marjensztat is a bit off the beaten path, and not technically in the Old Town, but I wanted to include it here because of this cool building clock that I found while wandering around. Like any proper historic city, even a reconstructed one, Warsaw has all of these cool little details around to keep your interest.

Museum of Clocks, Bratislava, Slovakia, 2005

Technically on Zidovske ulica, very close to Beblaveho ulica (the previous photo showed the corner of Zidovske and Beblaveho Streets), this building was not always a clock museum, being built in 1760-1765 as the "House of the Good Shepherd" in Rococo style.

Jindrisska Vez, Jindrisska, Prague, CZ, 2007

04 Dec 2007 393
Here's Jindrisska Vez, or the Jindrisska Tower, on Jindrisska in Prague. This is a favorite shooting location for Flickrites, espeically from the top of it, but oddly I don't have too many shots of it on the internet.

Clock Tower, Stare Radnice, Prague, CZ, 2006

01 Sep 2007 422
Maybe they could call this one the "Prazky Normalni Hodiny." :-) This is a completely conventional dial clock on a tower directly above the Prazky Orloj, on the Stare Radnice, or Old Town Hall, where both are located.

Building Clock, Sidliste Haje, Prague, CZ, 2006

01 Sep 2007 358
Maybe this should really be entitled "Building Clocks," as there is also another one in the lower left hand corner that I didn't notice before. :-) I took this mainly for the composition.

Bush #3, 2006

01 Sep 2007 363
This actually has nothing at all to do with that...man. :-) In actuality, it gets its name from the photo I started with, "Yellow Bush," although this is a collage of at least five photos (I may be forgetting one or two of them). It is also not necessarily final. I may do more versions of it, but I'm not sure what possessed me to do it in the first place. I guess boredom and the capabilities of Adobe Photoshop. :-) If any of you out there like this, then maybe I'll do more.

Grand Central Terminal, Picture 2, New York, NY, U…

Arguably the most famous meeting place in the New York City (and one of the most famous in the world) is the kiosk in the center of the main concourse in Grand Central Terminal. Some people were gathered there on this day, but only a moderate number.
