Spring Gold is one of the earliest wildflowers to bloom in western Washington. These were photographed on Pass Island in Deception Pass the first week in March. We had gone wildflower hunting there while on the west side of the Cascades.

Spring Gold, Lomatium utriculatum, is well named, blooming very early in the spring and dotting the areas where it grows with patches of gold and ferny foliage. This example was photographed in Washington Park on Fidalgo Island. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2013/04/spring-wild...
