Natures window Kalbarri

This is a good walk to get to on a hot day and a very busy place most certainly not a place you can bring a wheel chair as you have to scramble across the side of rocks. The view when you get there of the valley and river beyond is well worth the trip. If there are a lot of cars and busses in the car park this place is going to be busy. This was such a place so many people wanting to get a photo of this iconic place I had to wait for 10 min while a Chinese lady checked her shot of her selfie on her phone and then sent it to the net for all her friends to see...............................................while sitting in the window blocking any one getting a shot..... OF THE WINDOW.

Pergande Sheep yard & Wiacubbing Hill

30 Oct 2025 87
To build the sheepyards, Ted Pergande harvested slabs of granite from a nearby rock formation by heating the rock and then rapidly cooling it with water. The rock cleaved into slabs, which were transported the short distance to their present location. Located at the site are the remains of an original and prominent homestead and sheep yards that were constructed almost entirely from local granite. The sheep yards are made from large granite slabs that were drawn into position by horse sled from the nearby Wiacubbing Hill. These slabs were then placed upright out of the ground to make the fences of the sheep yards. The homestead was constructed using smaller round rocks held together by mortar. This was Built 1910 all out of the Stone from the hill in the background in shot. Those slabs some are as big a 72 inch tv that make the walls of the race and holding pens. The home and the shed you see here wall and pillars made from smaller stones. Very Very quiet waking up here in the morning. This is the Ruins of the home stead.
