Reality check
Sami Serola (inactive)47 comments1621 visits13We are "social media nomads", not like those who are travelling around the world and keeping their personal blog or vlog about it, but folks who try to survive in the jungle of social media services. We try to find best and cheapest place to share our creativity and hunger for inspiration. And what makes us as nomads is the fact that nothing seems to continue forever, especially not the social media services. Who remembers such communities as Multiply and My Opera? Who will soon remember Pan… (read more)
Patterns in Art
Sami Serola (inactive)10 comments546 visits4I have decided to start keeping some sort of a journal on my photography. That is what I discovered after accidentally finding Ted Forbes 's The Art of Photography Youtube channel and his photography assignments: https://youtu.be/JB0rtvtmdF8 The idea is to record the creative thinking and flow in some way, in order to reflect one's own work. However, I think I like to utilize modern digital format for it. Although, I much like handwritten journals and diaries, they does not allow such… (read more)
Observations on ipernity groups
Sami Serola (inactive)20 comments1146 visits16Every now and then I test sharing private images only on groups, and get some interesting results. Some "advertising" would be nice =)
Sami Serola (inactive)31 comments371 visits3We just got the meta description fixed, which should help "advertising" our wonderful web site elsewhere. We mentioned this on our Facebook page. The post has now received promising ~450 views but only very few likes and shares: www.facebook.com/ipernity/posts/10155275339706771 What we really need is people sharing the awesomeness of this web site with their friends elsewhere. It does not work if only the "official ima team" tries to share few posts here and there, when our social media… (read more)
Terrifying news!
Sami Serola (inactive)21 comments473 visitsMicrosoft is planning to include the controversial NewsGuard on its new Edge browser. Where the world is going? I have noticed Google has started to do something similar, and warning users about insecure actions, like writing this on non secured web page (http). And before someone comments anything on that, please remember: Ipernity login and subscriptions use and have always used secured connection (https). So, if someone hacks me while submitting this blog article, that is no problem. I was… (read more)
What it takes to administrate a good group?
Sami Serola (inactive)16 comments477 visits1First things first. In my opinion a good group requires the joined forces. The more the merrier is often true. But it then also means that one has to be ready to compromise. If you wish to administrate a group alone, then you may not reach the success. And that is because the group can not grow beyond certain limits. Groups administrated alone are in danger to turn into a dumping grounds. People may continue contributing in them, but they really never visit the group pages to see what other grou… (read more)
