D-Week for Ipernity Platform:
Next week, we will be in discussion with Ipernity S.A. to get a firm commitment for the transfer of the site to IMA as well as a clear schedule for the transition that must be completed before the end of April.
This will include site management documentation, concrete financial information, precise membership numbers, as well as contractual obligations to be inherited.
It is imperative discussions conclude early next week with a favorable outcome. Otherwise IMA will return 100% of the donated money since it makes little sense to hold onto it.
We will inform everyone of the results and release pertinent site information (e.g. the latest costs in running the site, the latest membership numbers, etc.).
While we make no guarantee of bringing up issues not related to ownership transfer and the ensuing transition, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions you think should be brought up during this discussion, please feel free to add them below. However, please be brief, precise and categorize your comment (e.g. Suggestion -- Please provide IMA with a master email list or Question -- Will membership dues be returned if the site shuts down?).
Thank you in advance!
p.s. While we do not place much weight in the 50,000 figure or want people to get caught up between the currency difference between Euros and Dollars, we encourage everyone who has not yet donated to stand with your fellow members and contacts and take advantage of the last two days of this crowdfunding effort and contribute. Even though $27,000 is a respectable and successful figure, it remains our hope that we can conclude with at least $30,000 (the figure mentioned at the start of the campaign). And if you have already donated once or even twice, we thank you!
Last, with so little time remaining and the need for real results our only focus will be on concluding a deal with Ipernity S.A. that serves the best interests of this site and its members if it is possible. These are the realities dictated by business and time constraints.

What will be done with Ipernity iPhone and Android applications? Will IMA get codes also for them? Or should they become declared as no longer supported?
Suggestion: Any membership money should not be possible to be paid at the same minute when control changes. And also IMA should not collect any membership money before it is clear how the Club feature will be implemented in the future.
Additional comment: There are several Ipernity Club members who have paid to Ipernity S.A, to continue their club membership even till year 2018.
As above because I am a Paid up Club member until October 2018.
Stormlizard club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… clubSuggestion: IP could transfer money of paid membership fees to IMA who could keep those accounts active, even if they did not donate to the crowdfunding.
Colin Ashcroft club- what we be done we the in-active accounts (1 year old ??)
- what we be done with the 'free riders'
In my opinion to both groups asap some action > less non-paying members > less server space > less costs ??
Bergfex club has replied to Jaap van 't Veen clubIf the site survives, I think those of us that have been loyal will forgo repayments, but I do think that Ipernity SA could transfer some (excess) funds to the IMA.
I also fully agree with Sami. Quote: "Ipernity S.A. posts a thank you notice on The Ipernity Team blog before the control becomes switched. The content could be something like Ipernity S.A. thanking all it's users for the previous years, and declare whether there will be reimbursements or not, and if not, then why so."
Ipernity SA are being very quiet at the moment!
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Amelia clubEnough money became collected on the crowdfunding. Case of questionable large donation became solved. Final negotiations will take place during this week. If anyone still wants to donate, it is possible until Tuesday evening (William will check the exact time ASAP). No fund money is used to anything before deal is signed.
Question Part 1:
How will logging on be dealt with,
Will we need to first sign on to Ipernity as now, then sigm in on the I M A page ?
Question Part 2;
Will all existing Ipernity users still have access?
I ask this because many users are not I M A members but may wish to join.
William Sutherland club has replied to Stormlizard clubJust to warn any possible respondents to this I intend to take some photographs today and comment on the work of others who post here rather than get involved in wrangling people's hurt feelings or objections to my statement. So it goes
Amelia club has replied to Steve Bucknell clubIt is impossible to please all of the people all of the time and some of the people are impossible to please

Based on a Skype® call today with Christophe, there is reason for optimism. The Ipernity platform appears to remain viable with the new reality – decline in memberships since January and existing direct expenses, some of which can be reduced resulting in up to 5000 Euros of savings per year. We are awaiting further information.
It is anticipated IMA will receive firm numbers and copies of invoices regarding revenues, expenses and actual membership figures by the end of the week that hopefully confirms site viability.
Other topics such as contractual obligations (negligible aside from Amazon Cloud), network configuration and transfer logistics were also discussed. Also please be sure if IMA takes over the platform, all features including compatibility with mobile apps will remain.
Please know we do not take your donations and the responsibility thrust upon us lightly. If the site is viable with a bright long-term future we will enter into agreement with Ipernity S.A. early next week. If it is not viable or the long-term future remains uncertain, we will end the effort and return the donations. Disappointment alone is better than disappointment and loss of money.
If we enter into agreement to takeover the platform, please know the original 100K Euro revenue-sharing figure based on certain outcomes has been removed. This is a win for everyone here since it will allow this excess revenue to be invested into the site and give IMA flexibility to consider a reduction in membership dues.
Finality is near. A final Skype® call will be held early next week to conclude a deal one way or the other. We ask for a few more days of your patience even though the uncertainty has been very difficult and challenging. Most importantly, thank you for placing your trust in us to do the right thing with your words of encouragement, prayers and contributions.
