Our weekend has begun sunny and snowy, having gotten about six inches of snow overnight.
And the old oak is losing it bark! It looks sturdy enough, though!

Enjoy snow on my behalf then !

Mais vivent bien plus que nous, ils le méritent…

I think this beautiful old oak tree will be around for a few years yet..........and even though its branches will probably stay bare, it will still support a lot of insects, fungi and other wildlife.

I love the detail you've captured in the trunk and bark and I like the wild flowers growing around it's base.

I have some photos of it taken through the years… like I do for my favorite trees…
