The link you provided had it correct in the opening of the article when it stated that "Xmas" was an attempt to remove "Christ" from "Christmas." It also went on to state that it was a way of saving space when it was first employed by writers of illuminated manuscripts. Today, we don't have to worry about saving space, so we don't really need to abbreviate it. Que pasa?

I prefer "Season greetings"...
I am descendent of the people who were forced to christianity, tortured, burnt in the name of the crucified. People who never tried to convert anyone and only wanted to live their belief in peace.
I am not a believer and not religious either, raised in freedom to make my choices. As respect for my ancestor's sacrifice, for my original family name that catholicism erased forever... sorry but even if I respect diferences... this period is a hard one for me.

I feel the chill of winter looking at the bare plants.

But here it is not cold: about 18ºC during the day, plants are just thirsty...

A lovely set of seasonal images, with the lack of the colours of Summer shapes and subtle shapes become so important in photos

I quite prefer this season, I love dryness poetry... We had lots of rain for 4 days but now unfortunately it seems to be over, we do need much more to have a blooming winter.
