It was not the plane we took, but they have systems to remove snow very quickly, it is intriguing specialy when they do it with you already on board!

If this main photo was taken in the UK, the plane would never have taken off. We lived in Stavanger for 5 years, and although the climate is so different from west to east in Norway, I have been in a plane on the runway getting defrosting solution sprayed onto the body of the plane while the snow ploughs ran up and down the runway. The views over the central mountains during the flight to Oslo were spectacular.

I had the defrosting experience in Tromsø... it is very funny. I made some videos but too heavy to post here....

Plenty of snow but that doesn't stop them from flying! On my way back from Bergen recently we also had to de-ice before takeoff:-)
