Usually it is soaked in water and then cooked like fresh fish. Or cut into small chips and eaten dry as a snack. At least that's what they do in Norway and Iceland, so I guess the Faringers do it the same way.

Beer would be better! In Germany we say "Fisch muss schwimmen" - fish needs to swim;-)
