This map copied out of a Thai news paper shows the big region of flooded districts. All this water must run through Bangkoks river and Khlongs into the Gulf of Thailand. The light blue area shows the last flooded area which also infected our housing zone.

Most reason of the death of 437 humans (2.11.2011) are electric shocks happen when power transformers fall into the water.

I'm posting photos I captured yesterday (3.11.11) Some brave people still find their way through the flood.
Sena Nikhom intersection

At afternoon generally an overcrowded intersection, now flooded with nearly one meter high water. We'd some problems to drive through it, the water run inside of our vehicle interior.

Intersection Sena Nikhom.
The flyover ends into the water, the subway underneath is full flooded and closed for every vehicle, the sideway change from flooded to the dry area.

Public busses, pickup cars come down the bridge. Going on means going deeper into the water. Our sideway to our house starts 300 m further.

We hope every second not to be forced to hold-up. Go on again mostly is impossible. You wouldn't be able to start the engine.
Lucky to reach our home

Last days there were great problems to get your needs for everyday. On the way back to home the subway was flooded and closed, the level at sideways at some parts more than one meter.
Water at the highest level

The Soi is 40cm under water, our landed property lies half a meter higher than the Soi. Some neighbors have bigger problem, their premises lie lower. In 1983 we already suffered under a hugh flood disaster. Loose and damages were high. In 1986 we built and restored our house on higher ground.
Our garden

Water runs everywhere. The garden and the parking position is under water. We hope that the level is not rising too much. The level ever day rises and is falling due the opening of some nearby watergates of Bang Bua Khlong.

Some pickup cars and lorries still try to find a way through the hugh "drink". Normally the road is crowded.
Mobile pumpstation full in action
|
|
The entrance into the Soi still is dry and a mobile pump tries to pump back to the main road the incoming water (with very little success).

The Soi 44 is the sideway from the Phaholyotin highway to our house.
Just two hours later the level rises to 30 cm.
