The train passes four times from one direction and then four times from the other. Market people have to remove and rebuild their booths and stalls eight times every day.

You need more than one hours to visit this unique market. By mischance I didn't wait three hours to be witnessed and photographed the train passing while I'm walking at the market. When we arrived Maeklong, we used the same train to return to Banlaem due the lack of time. I success to start the excursion earlier in the morning. Use the train from Banlaem 10.10h which arries Maeklong 11.15. Then return with the train at 15.30h, arrival Banlaem 16.45h. Following this schedule you've the change to be on the market twice when the train passes through.

The marketers aren't spoilt like on other markets in Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya. Also foreigner get the purchasing for the same price than local people pay (snup-nose-prices).

Along the rail most the vendor stalls have their place there. At lunchtime you see the business gets quiet a bit and starts to get alive again after 2 p.m.

Salted fish, here the mackerels, are liked in every Thai household for fast food. It makes a great difference between fast food (e.g. Thai cuisine which is mostly prepared in a couple of minutes) and junk food the imported US "soft roll mentality" which unfortunately has become a second place in Thai cuisine.

It seems that the train has to wait to pass the road traffic first, but the train comes close very slow and the mopeds cross the rail in last seconds before the train comes and loudly whistle its pipe before.

I like very much in Thailand that the Thai people always know to improvise in every situation.
