Atop the sea of clouds

Phongsali is located in an altitude of more than 2,000 m. The morning starts with a view over a sea of clouds. The 30 km down to the Mae Nam river is a step way down through the fog. When you see the landscape around you get a bit depressed: Because of economic commerce with China, large portions of the province have been deforested.
