The Chedi of Phongsali on Phou Fa hill
Quite new built Stupa where the Buddhist believers come to donate with money bills, whiskey bottles, food and sneaks like full packets of potato chips.
Phou Fa, or Mountain in the Sky, sits above Phongsali at an altitude of 1,625 m. A path leading from behind the monument to Kaysone heads up and around to the right. At the base of the mountain, a large sign only in Lao points the way. The site is respected because it is believed that a Boddhi tree, like the one Buddha sat under to meditate, was here. The tree on Phou Fa was apparently gold, and one day it simply disappeared.
