The day before the silence

At sunset, between 5-8pm, the ritual of Sembung takes place with the Ogoh-Ogoh parades. At this time the Balinese parade the streets with playing a deafening mixture of the kulkul (traditional bamboo bell), claxons, gamelan music and drummers music and the sounded ringing (Tawatawa Klenang).
