Modern Buddha image in Loei province

In modern times, Buddha images are often replicas of images from the Sukhothai and other early periods, often more ornately and elaborately adorned. This statue was built as a gift for HRM King Bhumibol’s 72nd birthday, and the 50th Royal Coronation Anniversary of the king and queen of Thailand.
