Valentine & Sons, no. 110,214, postmarked at Brandon July 12, 1919 with a war slogan cancel "Buy War Savings Stamps and Help Reconstruction".
To Miss E. Kusher, 11 Bartholomew Rd., Kentish Town, London N.W. 5, England:
"12-7-19 Arrived here at 4 p.m. The whole town out to see us through. Love, Geo."
The sender would quite possibly have been a returning soldier. Perhaps Miss Lusher was a young lady he had met overseas.

Valentine & Sons, no. 109,735.
Posted at Kenton May on Nov. 5, 19-- to Miss Daisy Rattray, Little Gourdas, Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Unusually, there are 3c in stamps so this must have been during the war.
"Kenton, Manitoba
Dear Daisy, Just a P.C. to say we have arrived here safe but feels some tired after the long journey. We stayed in this town one night. I am writing Elsie a long letter so you will all get a read of it. I sent your mother a P.C. of the boat. Also Elsie, I hope you are all well. We have lots of snow here so it is real cold. I hope you will write me some times. Write to this address + I will get it where ever I am. Best love to all from us both your loving Aunty Doddie."

Posted to Hr. Direckor A. Knudsen, Villa "Merlon", Dutzfeldsalle 17, Hellerup, Denmark, Europe, from Miniota, Man. on 22/5/1913 with a letter to "Onkel Anton" from E. L. Landorph. Written in Danish.
Valentine & Sons, no. 105,240.
Is the placement of the two signs at right and left accidental? They actually appear to be some sort of box, like a small mailbox or, perhaps more likely, a refuse container. I suppose that advertising space was sold on them, whatever they are. They didn't miss many chances to slap advertising on things in those days.

Unused coloured RPPC. See the separate image of the back, which indicates that it is published by PECO but also uses the Valentine's branding.

This Photogelatine (PECO) back appears to be from the 1930s and incorporates the Valentine logo. I was unaware of this collaboration before (or co-branding or whatever it was), but I don't generally collect much from this era.

A group in some sort of ethnic dress. Maybe Masonic, a triangular sash with an "S" in the middle (of some but not all of them).
No. 55 in the Charles A. Meyers series.
This one was used. Postmarked August 23, 1915 to Miss R. Barr, Box 61, Sudbury, Ont.: "Dear Rosie, Just arrived at Winnipeg 2 clock Monday afternoon. Leaving here 11'clock tonight. Hoping you are well will write soon with love from Alf."
Interesting that someone would have bought this card -- which depicts an event nearly two months before -- immediately on arriving in the city. So presumably Meyers had an outlet for the public sale of his postcards at or near one of the train stations. Note that my copy of card 39 in the series was posted just four days later (Aug. 27) by someone who'd also just arrived in the city. www.ipernity.com/doc/wintorbos/31336535//in/album/880636

This is a later parade - Feb. 14, 1917.
The 1917 poultry show, held at the Industrial Bureau in the background, was a roaring success -- according to the Winnipeg Tribune. Eggs laid during the show were to be donated to the returned soldiers at Deer Lodge, with several dozen having been so collected as of the date of the article (Feb. 15).
No. 6 in a series by Charles A. Meyers.

Not sure who these guys were; their sign was blown inward by an unfortunate gust of wind so it's impossible to make out. They are wearing kilts and military uniforms so I imagine that it is a regimental group of some sort.
No. 41 in the Meyers series.

E. B. Weaver postcard. These Easter cards are all from series no. 2342, in which there are said to be 16 designs. The company has a monogram that looks like AMPC Co. although it is hard to know the order of the letters. I didn't see it in the list at the Metropolitan Postcard Club website although I expect it is there somewhere.
