Depictions of hands are known as the oldest examples of cave art, or parietal art ( love that technical term!). I like the way you emphasise that, in the treatment of the image. You can’t deny that there’s something touching about it: the extra mile the artist has gone to depict fingernails, the symbolic way Caitlin is held in the hand. So much better than a heart and arrow. I hope Caitlin gets it. Though, I guess it might be Caitlin’s hand, which takes my deconstruction in a different direction....
