It is possible he did not use ladders at all. There usually are also maintenance hatch on such "modern" buildings. Which makes this particular challenge actually very challenging. Unless not staging it on some smaller ladders at home or at cottage =D

When I came there a kind of toolbox was at the feet of the ladder on the ground and another guy who left. Difficult to say, because I did not like to wait without knowing what was really happening, but the picture fits :))
