lion head violin

lion head violin
For TSC:
Something that you own, something you treasure, something you wish you'd never bought
Technic: overlay texture
A violin I bought on one of my trips to Saint Petersburg, but as an violin expert said, a cheap copy, good to hang on the wall, but I still like it, because it looked like somebody has used it very much. One of my kids had his own way of playing the violin.

CWP: old or vintage

Thank you Sami,
Yes, I made a picture of it before. I was first thinking of using it again, but prefered to make a new version.

old violins are great, I bought at that time two old violins and according to the violin specialist the second one was a good violin.

Oops! Better to break a cheap violin than an expensive one. It makes a great photo.

haha, it's beautiful and the story is also great, I am not a violin player but I somehow think the neck should not be placed in that manner.. would make it a bit difficult to play.

Another example of your fine work Wierd (although it is always painful to see a broken instrument.)

o0o it has character and that is what is important and so pleasing to the eye,
I have two mandolins ... one is very very old and the other more modern, they
belonged to my father ... and a history to go with them too ... a sad one ...but
I could never ever part with them, whether they were old or new, when they
touch the strings of your heart for whatever reason ... they are yours for
all time ;-) oOo
