Opened a shop
|
|
|
A bookshop that is. It can be found on my website or following the direct link to veterok.bigcartel.com
I'm having an opening sale which means the first three to use "openingsale" on purchase will get -10% off everything. This is just a heads up to those who might be interested in purchasing my books.
My Etsy bookshop is still active too, but I will keep adding all kinds of special one-offs such as artist books and more elaborate bindings in the new shop, in the hopes that it could perhaps be my main channel for selling my work in the near future.

Cloth-covered folder

I recently made a set of eight black folders on commission for Non Serviam sighthounds. The folders are covered with Italian linen-cotton bookcloth and finished with silver titles. I wanted to create a simple, easy-to-make folder with a classic look and it turned out quite nicely. Would also look good as a simple portfolio case.

I had been meaning to acquire a type holder for god knows how long, and then it just sort of landed upon me: I was gifted with this vintage German type holder last June, and it came with a set of type too.
Finska Lappmarken

A while ago I was asked to bind a set of books that apparently was once gifted to well-known Finnish poet Eino Leino, and later to his brother Artturi. The Lönnbohms, or maybe someone else in the more recent years, were quite selectively interested in Lapland as only some of the chapters in these books were opened.
I put the set of four books in hard covers and finished them with natural linen-cotton bookcloth and printed titles, preserving the original edges. I hope they got a bit more shelf life from this procedure.

If my memory serves me right, this was originally a pale brown cardstock sheet and was dyed with two shades of ink.
