The drive from Santa Barbara to Carmel will take you to Pismo Beach and more stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. I've lived in Florida most of my life, but I am not a "beach person". Yes, this was as delicious as it looks! This is a view of the Pacific coast from Nepenthe, a restaurant which affords amazing views and great food. And, in the right time of the year, whale watching. It is one of my favorite places along Big Sur. Years ago it had a '60's feeling. That has pretty much changed, but it is still a great place.
