Angel Falls - shot from a small bush plane over southeastern Venezuela near the Brazil and Guyana borders. February,1993
(Please "View on Black" or in larger sizes for best
effect)
Surrounded by remarkable wilderness, scenic beauty, varied ecosystems, and majestic rivers of the Canaima National Park, the first sight of Angel Falls effects a deep spiritual impact that is hard to describe.
Twice the height of the Empire State building, fifteen times the height of Niagara Falls, the world's highest waterfall plunges 3,212 feet from the top of the massive Auyantepui to the dense jungle below. This remote area became known in 1935 when Jimmy Angel, an American bush pilot in search of diamonds and gold, discovered instead something more fantastic: one of the wonders of the world.
Thank you friends - so glad you like it. Again, were were fortunate the clouds had parted for our pictures!
