South Australia
Folder: Australia
Photos from around my state of South Australia....not too far from my home. South Australia has fabulous vineyards, fruits and food. We have hundreds of kilometers of amazing golden beaches, fish and seafoods and a Mediterranean or Californian climate. We produce fantastic cheeses and fresh foods....and also have gigantic wheat and grain farms.

Coober Pedy. Outback South Australia...and where they filmed "Priscilla Queen of the Desert". It is remote and arid here...and very dangerous. The land has thousands of deep open shafts from the mines.

Port Adelaide. South Australia.
Please excuse me if I do not visit. Aixa from Brazil is staying with me and we are travelling inland in Australia for two weeks. I will not have the opportunity to visit Ipernity very much. Best wishes to all!

The Dog or Dingo Fence HFF

The Dog Fence is over 5,600 km in length, stretching across the remote and arid lands of Australia from Queensland, far south to The Great Australian Bight. It was built in 1880-85 to protect the South Eastern sheep grazing lands from incursion by dingoes(wild native dogs). It has been mostly successful in keeping the dingoes out. 23 staff patrol the length of it to keep it in good repair.
Have a fantastic weekend, and thank you so much for your visits and comments...

Adelaide Hills, close to my house...autumn in the vines! Lovely cool climate wine area of Australia.
Have a great Friday, and a sunny weekend. Wishing you and your loved ones good health and positivity in the coming week.
Thanks for your visit!
In answer to Andy Rodker....probably Pinot noir...or Grüner. There are hundreds of vineyards up in the hills here. Some have their own winery, mainly small, hand made batches. Others grow for the larger producers, like Penfolds or Bird in Hand, and sell their crops to these bigger, exporting producers. It tends to be more boutique type production in the Hills here, and then the Hills run into the Barossa Valley, where the bold reds.E.g. ..Shiraz are standouts.

Sunset at the abandoned desert railway station in Oodnadatta, far north South Australia. Formerly a stop on the old, superseded Ghan Central Australian line to Alice Springs. It is one of the remotest and hottest places in South Australia.
Home for a few months

We sold our house last week. This tiny camper trailer is now home, for 6-8 months. We will build a house 1200 km from our old home, where our son and young grandchild live...in Canberra.
We will stay sometimes with friends, and sometimes travel until our new home is built
I will not always have internet, so forgive if I do not so much visit or comment.
I wish all my friends a fabulous week! Hugs to all...
