HWW

This is in Wuwei and is the largest Confucian Temple in Northwest China, built in 1437-39. It was for centuries an elite learning Academy for students wishing to enter the Imperial public service. To gain an admission brought huge honour to a whole family, and to excel in studies brought safe lifelong employment and pay. The students worked very hard.
This is one of the exterior walls of the great hall of learning…each of these signs emphasises rigorous study, discipline, hard work…..
