In the wild...a thorny devil
An Australian lizard, found only in the arid and central desert lands. They eat ants and tiny insects. They look formidable, but are quite small, only about 20cm long.
Thorny Devil.....(moloch horridus) We came upon it in Central Australia near Uluru recently.
They are quite unique creatures.

We saw one of them during our trip north of Alice Spring in the Outback.
Our bus driver suddenly stopped in the middle of the deserted terrain and asked us to get out to show us this special animal, which he then took a few meters from the road...
