iPhone picture by my fire fighting husband.
My husband is fire fighting on Kangaroo Island. He found this burned koala today and organised its rescue. It is believed that 30,000 koalas have died on Kangaroo Island....among untold numbers of other native animals. The rain which is in some areas of Australia has not reached many where fires are burning.

I have been to Kangaroo Island in 2009 and I remember a ranger already predicting a fire catastrophy then because of the dense dry shrubbery all over the island.
I hope that this little bear recovers Diana.
Thank you for posting to FFF.
Courage! Don't lose heart!
I hope this poor koala can recover, it would give us all, as well as the brave firefighters who rescued it, a bit of hope in the face of terrible destruction.

Take care :-)
I have read the news "up here", and it makes one feel so helpless. Wishing that one could do something to help all those animals.
