Disused opal miner's cottage. Andamooka
Far Northern South Australia desert. Here the temperatures reach into the 50's in summer. The miners dug out one room stone houses from the earth and rock. This little town is hundreds of kilometers from any other town or city. It is still an opal mining town. ON BLACK PLEASE

No. There is no water here. It is very, very dry. Water is caught in the tanks when there is rain. This is a very old house, not lived in any more

It is around 1000 km south-west of Uluru., and around 700km north of where I live in Adelaide. People still live here and dig opal from open shafts, in small one-man mines.
