Concentration
Taken during a visit by my talented daughter, Catherine, who wanted to finish a painting on which she had been working. The final painting (with bad light from the right, which was my fault) is shown in the PiP.

Mothers Day
Today is Mothers Day in Australia, so I thought I'd share this image of my lovely wife Pauline with our youngest grandson, taken some years ago. Yesterday, Saturday 8 May, was World Ovarian Cancer Day and, as that is what took Pauline away almost two months ago, I am also sharing the following item.
Artist at work (Coastal walk #6)
I mentioned with one of my earlier images that I did this walk in company. My friend's wife is an artist and we left her to sketch some coastal views while we walked a little further. On our return, she was well advanced with her artwork of the coastline looking south. Best viewed large.

Memories
I won't claim any special photographic merit for this photo. It was taken in Vancouver when Pauline and I visited one of my Antarctic colleagues with whom I spent a year (1966) at Mawson Station. Max was our station electrician and a keen mountaineer.
Today would have been Pauline's birthday. Sadly, I have also learned that today Max has climbed the final mountain. RIP to you both.
Under observation
Fishing people cleaning fish at the cleaning tables provided in Mallacoota, with a large audience of (always) hungry Australian Pelicans awaiting any scraps that are provided. In the PiP a portrait of some pelicans.
Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday followed by an enjoyable weekend.
Beneath the Tree Ferns
My grand-daughter admiring the Tree Ferns (Dicksonia antarctica) in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne.
Wishing everyone a Happy Bench Monday and, what's more, a Happy New Year.
