Walls
From an old slide
I've been copying some of my old slides to digital. This one of the Sydney Opera House was from Dec 65, and taken from a Manly Ferry. Copied from a Perutz slide. See also Pip, taken a little later on the trip.
Your choice of walls for Happy Wednesday Wall, have a good week everyone.
Post Office wall
This rather stylish wall is on the Moss Vale Post Office, in the Southern Highlands of NSW. The letterbox is a bonus. :-) HWW and I hope everyone is having a good week.

Multicultural bench
It rather appealed to me that the "Olde Bicycle Shoppe" promotes the town's Scottish links as "Home of the Highland Fling" while also housing a (very good) Thai restaurant - and all in Australia, so it's a real cultural mix. :-)
Wishing everyone a Happy Bench (and Easter) Monday, with a good week to follow.
Ye Olde Bicycle Shoppe
One of Bundanoon's more interesting buildings (see also PiPs), not for its architecture but for its history. Early on, it was a Post Office, later a grocery, then a tearoom. Finally, in 1949, it became a bicycle shop and laid claim to be the largest bicycle hire outlet in the Southern Hemisphere (people would come by train from Sydney for weekends and hire bicycles). In those days it even had a Penny Fathing bicycle (as in PiP1) mounted on the roof. And now? Well, unlikely as it may seem, the Bicycle Shoppe now houses a very good Thai restaurant! Best viewed large I feel.
Happy Wall Wednesday, everyone.
Wall mural
This mural was on the end of an old "Terrace House" in Glebe. It depicts the way the street outside at the right would have looked back in the 1950s, before Sydney closed its very extensive tram services. Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.

Retaining wall
Retaining wall for a landscaping terrace. The timber planking is about 50mm thick.
Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.
What's the criterion?
The Criterion Hotel was built in Braidwood in 1870. It was restored some years ago and is heritage listed - but it could be suggested that another restoration is due! I think most of this damage was caused when masses of ivy were removed a few years ago.
Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.
BUTTER
An old wall with long-faded advertising in Bundanoon. HWW, everyone.
The Pill Factory
This Victorian-era building, of all things, was built as a pill factory by a homeopath, who produced pills for (it seems) almost every known ailment. It subsequently became a guest house and, more recently, has been restored externally to original condition and updated internally as a boutique hotel. Another image in the PiP.
Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.
