For some reason this building reminded me immediately of ma building in Barcelona. It would take me some time to find it in my archives.

Magnificent building and a great job of restoring the old slide. I used Agfachrome at one time and that did not age well either.

I remember that lovely building! I saw it in 1980, still a little younger than your slides, but nevertheless quite old by now ;-) And I really like those vintage cars (that were ultra modern back then) in your picture.

You have done a good restoration job on it, most of my slides are on Agfa CT18 the colours have deteriorated badly on many of them I have saved a few some looked better converted to B&W

Good to know cables are gone. Amazing restoration of the original photos+++++++

Oh George, this is indeed a beauty of a building. It reminds me very strongly architecturally of the Lahore Museum in Pakistan, built in this grand colonial manner. Rudyard Kipling’s father was its first director…Lahore, I mean. There are a lot of fine public buildings in the subcontinent built like this, with the arched windows, turrets and bicolour brickwork by the Brits in the 1800´s. So glad Qld has preserved this beauty…SA pulled down its finest of this style,unfortunately.
