Quietly grazing

Another from the archives, taken on our former rural property on a quiet evening. The steel frame on the left was to hold round hay bales while cattle fed (see PiP). Well, another week gone, so I'll wish everyone a very HFF and a safe and enjoyable weekend.

It's surprising how little pasture can suffice for them, it becomes a matter of very careful management during a drought (as it had been for some years at that point). HFF.

They would have been. The pasture growth in winter was limited by low temperatures as much as dry conditions - but in late September (shortly after this) the grass usually grew well again. HFF.
