remains of the mid c18 chest tomb of thomas and margaret bromfield +1767 and family. probably destroyed by vandals, aided by the idiotic removal of railings during the war. being cast iron these were generally just dumped, being of no use for the war effort. either the church or council should mend this tomb; this sort of destruction spreads. at the very least the ledger slab should be saved before that too is broken. the church is not open to the public, so lacks a stream of visitors that would protect it and the monuments from harm.

remains of the mid c18 chest tomb of thomas and margaret bromfield +1767 and family. this ledger slab should be moved into the church, if the authorities cannot mend the tomb; preferably before it gets smashed. are there no rich ancestors in australia or america who would be willing to help?
