pearson rebuilt the chancel in 1882-4 with the rest of the church excepting the tower. he reused burges' south chancel window of 1861, moving it to the north wall and repeating its design for two other windows. he retained burges' glass, but had to add bits top and bottom, having lengthened the window to fit into his designs.
