the nave and aisles are by blore,dating from 1832-4,with little figures below the tie beams and head stops to the drip moulds. this church is still pre-archaeological gothic, mixing correct details of many periods into an improbable whole.

blore's church is good commissioners' gothic of 1832-4, little altered apart from a victorian chancel and an unusually sensitive modern extension.

detail of a rather spectacular memorial to the many protestants burned here in the reign of mary I, obviously no time to be a rationalist . each side lists those killed. it is dated 1878,designed by j.t.newman,and made of terracotta by johnson and co. of ditchling in sussex
